Utterly Meaningless

I have too bad of a temper to keep a gun in the house. All my neighbors would be dead if I owned a gun. Instead, we’ve decided to move. We close on our new house on December 23rd.

Congrats on your purchase. A couple of caveats, though.
Unstocked 12gauge shotguns are really hard on your wrist. I would consider getting a stock, folding would be OK. Since this firearm is not semiautomatic, the “assault weapons ban” does not apply.
It is possible to miss with a shotgun. Practice. Don’t forget to aim.
A flashlight on the forearm would be a fine addition. It would make it harder to miss, it could blind an intruder temporarily, and it allows you to identify your target before shooting it. A laser pointer is useless – all you see is a red dot, and you don’t know if the dot is on the wall, the burglar, or your child.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on adding a light. I looked into the Tec versions. Way too expensive ($75 or so). I’ll likely go with a low-tech MagLite and some baling wire. 🙂

Practice is forthcoming. We have a state-owned range in my hometown. The folding stock is a good idea. I’ll check into that.
