ET TU, BRUTUS
Newsday has a thought-provoking column on teen sex and the media. Sheryl McCarthy pretty much blames MTV for the sad state of affairs (although parents take a hit, too). Her point would have been better taken, though, without the racy Victoria’s Secret ad running down the right side of the column.

I didn’t get the Victoria’s Secret ad, even after reloading the page a few times 😉 And I’m not sure the trend of not having a date for the prom is really a good thing. Working up the courage to ask someone is a big deal. Also, I’m sort of looking forward to the moment when I can make my daughter’s prom date sweat as he assures me they will be home early 🙂 Assuming she goes to some sort of prom that is… |

I’m not sure I care for the advice she gives at the end of the column. |

Me neither. I’m not sure if she realizes that PP is part of the problem with their inaccurate “safe sex” stuff (not to mention the “A” word). |
