OT: PHHHH!!!!!
Well that stinks. I just signed up to receive the MLB All access “broadcasts” so I could watch the Yankees games. But, all MLB games are blacked out due to Fox’s contract. Does that mean every Saturday day game for the whole season? What good is it, then?

The video feeds on MLB.com are subject to the same blackout rules as TV. I get the radio feeds from MLB.com – no restrictions, and I’ve always liked listening to baseball on the radio. |

I’d understand the blackout rules for local games, but they block ALL “nationally broadcast games” prior to 7:05 p.m. starts. For today, that was seven games. My local Fox station was carrying the Phillies-Sox game. |

Daryl, I have the same setup as you have ordered. I live in Connecticut, and I am blocked from Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox games. Fortunately, I am an Angels and Braves fan, so that restriction is not relevant to me. What does bug me though is the blackout ANYTIME there is a national broadcast. (Because of this, I missed Garret Anderson’s 2 HR game this afternoon.) This not only includes Fox, but ESPN. So if ESPN is showing the Phillies-Pirates, I am forced to view that on ESPN and everything is blocked on MLB.TV… unless of course you use a proxy server, which violates the “terms and conditions.” 🙂 |
