NICE BRIBE
Educrats in Illinois gave away a brand new (donated) car to a student who had perfect attendance. All students from seven schools who had perfect attendance for a quarter were eligible. Geez! In my day we got a gold star on our report card.

Did the school district contact the dealership about donating the car? “Student attendance is a must for a good school education and good school management for a school district.” I wish they’d tell the truth, NCLB requires improvement in attendance (for elementary and middle schools) or in graduation rate (for high schools) or by maintaining at least a 95% rate on the appropriate measure. Cars to the students and from yesterday’s posting, bench warrants for the parents. What’s next? |
