BOOK REVIEW

Not mine though. Jeanne tipped me to the book “Hold on to Your Kids: Why Parents Need to Matter More Than Peers.” The first review at Amazon makes it sound like a worthwhile read (but probably not a beach book).

It’s been available in Canada for a while, and the moms on the PositiveParenting-Discipline list have been raving about it! Many of the US moms have been trying to get it before it’s release here.

Yes, there’s an extra apostrophe up there. Just ignore it, please.

The reviewer is right about that book. It may be the most important book on parenting I’ve ever read. I don’t remember it being that full of jargon though– it seemed very accessible to me. The homeschooling quote in the review is the only mention of homeschooling in the entire book, but considering the topic there are obvious implications for homeschooling.
