G-SCHOOL SPORTS
PA Gov. Ed Rendell signed the bill forcing all school districts in the state to allow HEKs to participate in extracurriculars. Rah!

Pa. home educators will never get their freedom now. What a sad day. |

But isn’t participation, at least now, voluntary? Slippery slope, I see. If parents think that public schools provide good co-curricular activities, then perhaps they should reconsider their choice in homeschooling their children… Their children need saner parents after all :-). |

If it was going to happen somewhere PA is probably a good state for it. Nobody there was really free to homeschool anyway. HS’ers should just steer their kids into sports that aren’t big in the schools – then they get to avoid ever making this decision. Equestrian and fencing both have 4 year scholarships available – no school team required 🙂 |

What I mean is, anyone who comes to the Pa. legislature now advocating a bill to loosen the state’s ridiculous compliance requirements will be told “We can’t do that — we need those in place for sports!” |
