I”ve seen the same piece a few other times today. It seems like a coordinate effort from somewhere to make sure word gets out about this. |

I don’t think there’s any conspiracy. USAToday often buys the right to republish pieces from the local press. I was once interviewed by a reporter for the Wilmington (DE) News-Journal and the article later appeared in USAToday. It’s funny to re-read that piece on blogging way back in ’02. Fad, indeed. |

It just seems to me to be one of twenty bazillion “back to school” articles — no more of a conspiracy than usual. 🙂 The whole “traitor” “defectors” meme is in pretty bad taste, of course. War time might not be the best time to make that sort of play on words. Or maybe it’s the best time, if the writer is trying to really rile people up with patriotic mudslinging. Nance |
