Dove’s campaign may be brilliant marketing, but it’s also 100% accurate. [via Chris]
And this one is just utterly depressing.

I cried. Then I hugged my kids.
I’m glad someone in a marketing position is doing something. I think that a certain amount of the solution has to come from the major contributing sources. The problem is getting worse overall. Despite people talking about this for years, I think it’s worse now than when I was a teen. Maybe I was just lucky to have had the adults in my life that I did, both parents and teachers. I did papers on this and related topics while I was in high schoo (early ’80s). Now it’s not only the girls gettting worse– the boys have their own versions too.
I’m so thankful for the group of homeschoolers we hang out with. We talk about these issues amongst the parents and with the kids, so our kids don’t only hear about them from their parents, but from other adults in their lives. I wish I could say that homeschoolers in general were immune, but I know we’re not.
Thanks for passing this on Daryl and Chris. I’ll be pointing others to these.
