I’m guessing the principal isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer:

BROOKSVILLE – It had been a hard Friday at Brooksville Elementary School, with lots of misbehavior that didn’t bode well for the start of state testing the following week.

So the principal and a few staff members appealed to a higher power.

They prayed and blessed their students’ desks with prayer oil.

While the Christian prayers and anointing took place after school hours on the night of Friday, Feb. 2, the oil was still on desks the following Monday when teachers opened their classrooms.

Some felt the extra help crossed a line.

“We thought it was vandalism. It was greasy. It was oily,” said fourth-grade teacher Chris Becker, who resigned later that week to take a teaching job in Citrus County.

Wow, how much oil was actually used if there was evidence if it?

“We went into all the classrooms, and we touched all the desks and asked that the kids would do well.”

Sounds like it was more than a “touch” if some thought the desks had been vandalized.

    Odd.

Hey, Anna Nicole can only go unburied down here for so long! Florida needed a fresh news scandal to rivet the nation for the week Lent began, whaddaya think of it??

Next year though, instead of the prayer oil our Christian schoolteachers are urged to renounce all test-related activity for Lent, which would do kids some practical good at least until Easter.

Could the big bad secular state then force them to violate their religion and continue this immoral test experimentation on their innocent victims? Will the judge cry when he sees the real lives being torn apart? Tune into your favorite cable outlet to see!

Until then, don’t miss the ding-dong-Castro’s-dead dance parties and fireworks live from the Orange Bowl, which we Floridians dearly hopw can be scheduled for fall sweeps. . .

Prayer oil? I’m just dumbfounded. Seriously, prayer oil? Did I miss all those biblical references to prayer oil?

Doesn’t Florida already have a new scandal? I thought a principal in Tampa was just arrested for buying crack from an undercover in his school.

    Psalm 23:5 is one example.

That’s a relief, school news here usually involves the staff BEING under the covers . . .
