MISERABLE FAILURE
A Republican pollster said Bush has crossed the Mendoza Line to the downside. For a former front man/team “owner” dems fightin’ words.

Actually, the Mendoza line comment refers to20% that think the country is headed in the right direction. And that is driven by the combination of Bush’s 29% approval rating and Congress’ even lower rating. Has any Congress ever lost the confidence of the people as quickly as this one has? They just took office 5 months ago. Then, they did fail to deliver on their promise to do something about getting us out of the civil war in Iraq. |

“With the mood of the country dropping below 20, and the president’s approval below 30, both are candidates for a sort of political Mendoza line,” he says. The Mendoza Line term has gradually been expanded to include all sorts of mediocre numbers, not just 20%. In this particular case I believe that it’s just a coincidence that the real Mendoza and the right track numbers both hit .200 As for Congress, yeah lots of folks are pretty damn frustrated with the Dems caving in to Bush’s temper tantrums. Fortunately, Reid has promised at least two more votes before the July 4th break. |
