It’d be pretty hard to beat a $200 computer (after rebates). And only $1.49 shipping.

Nice! My only worry would be that with Vista loaded I’d expect the thing to run like a fat, legless pig. A fat, legless pig with a chevette strapped to it’s back. 🙂

Correction on the shipping. It says, “Ship your entire order from 1.49.” If you click that link, it lists the shipping rates and times; the cheapest is: “Standard: $3.99 (Arrives: 7/2/07 – 7/10/07).”

Not that $4 is horrible or anything.

If I needed a new PC I’d buy it and immediately format the hard drive to use Ubuntu, or if I needed it to be a Windows box I’d load XP.

Can you still buy an OEM version of XP? When we built my Anthony’s box 1.5 years ago I think we paid $79 for the license.

I agree about Vista. Everything I’ve read indicates that 512 MB would be inadequate. And I think I’d also try Linux. Does Guild Wars work on Ubuntu?

I believe Dell at least is selling XP through the end of the year.

TigerDirect.com is still selling OEM XP Pro with SP2.

thanks for the heads up. I am getting one.

I’ll give Vista a try, but if it sucks (what I’m expecting) my old harddrive is the same size and I’ll just put it in.
