SAY “NO” UPDATE
My LttE evidently got some attention. I’ve been invited to serve on some kind of ad hoc citizens committee to study how much, if any, of the city and county responsibilities could be consolidated. I think I may be the token “anti.” 🙂

Hmmm… COD… Mayor of the rural areas… that’s a thought… might actually work… the “county commissioners” mostly live in the city. Who can/will speak for the the (happily) unurbanized? Your thoughts? |

Reminds me of the deathless words of William F. Buckley Jr., when asked about the mayoral race in NYC… “If nomuinated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve!” 🙂 Actually, I’d probably vote for Phil Edge, given the opportunity! Regards… |

“War is hell”, too… 🙂 Thanks for that correction… I had heard that one on live TV, but might have missed the attribution, if there was one… but Buckley had some other good ones too… uniquely his own! This idea of a “mayor” for the uncorporated parts might have some merit… something to noodle on … I think what is needed is at least an “ombundsman-like” deal that can speak for those whose voice is not too often heard… only Commissioner who actually lives in the “country” is Diane Wheatly… the rest are all “city dudes”… |
