HOMESCHOOLERS FOR BROWNBACK

Filed at 4:17 am under by dcobranchi

Well, some of us are. I checked out his positions on the issues. He’s FOR a national ID card (“A secure, fraud-resistant ID must be the foundation of a robust worksite enforcement system that requires every new employee to be screened for valid work authorization”), AGAINST single-parent families (“Family begins with marriage.”), and strongly ANTI-CHOICE (“I will continue to fight to protect life at every stage.”)

I, too, will be rooting for him to get the GOP nomination.

yes, fortunately he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning…the only thing that makes him different from the rest of the repubs (except Ron Paul) is that he’s pro flat tax.

So… he’s basically pro-police state?

What’s that I hear…? Oh, just Orwell spinning in his grave.

Google tells me Tommy Thompson supports flat tax, also.

Oops. Forgot Tancredo: teamta...ex.asp

And Huckabee: mikehu...e_id=5

In fact, that position seems to be the most common one among GOP candidates this time around, meaning that Brownback’s position on tax reform is not what separates him from the rest of the candidates!

I’d be willing to accept a flat tax with two provisos–

1) Remove the cap on SS income
2) Tax cap gains at the same rate as wage income

As things are right now, our tax system is remarkably flat. Yes, income taxes are progressive. But SS, sales and use taxes are regressive. It all balances. Of course, the folks pushing for a flat income tax are quite reluctant to mention that fact. I’m not sure why that might be.

Huckabee is a FairTax devotee. And, before we get into a debate about that economic voodoo, note that I will IP ban anyone who tries to take over this space by continually posting advertisements for that book/bullshit.

Um, yeah… but I think he’s been in a state of perpetual spinnage since about late 2001, at least.
