This home ed article was moving along pretty nicely until she violated Godwin’s Law. What is it with World Nut Daily’s Nazi obsession?

Well, what do you expect? It’s WingNut Daily. They do have a few good points, but I don’t really think it helps the argument to haul out statistics of public-school “atrocities.” That’s lame and doesn’t address the real issue — that homeschooling still gets a bad rap. People think it’s just nutjobs that homeschool.

Interestingly enough, WND had a little sidebar ad called “Witchcraft in America.” They did basically the exact same kind of demonizing to Wicca (which is not necessarily witchcraft, but I’m not delving into that argument right now), that New York Times article did to homeschooling.

Hey, just wanted to comment because I enjoy reading your blog. I have a lot of friends who homeschool their children, and my first hand experience and observations are nothing but favorable to the endeavor. I do get feedback from a lot of parents who say they like to have additional resources at their disposal though, in that they enjoy being kept current on what online programs are available out there that might be able to supplement their home curriculae. I’ve found some good resources so far to suggest to these friends, and I think others should check out eLearners and CampusExplorer. Schools and programs listed on these sites could potentially add value to the already substantive methods of established home schools.
