    A really strange local story here. A guy stole the identity of a 9-year-old and apparently opened charge accounts in his name. How is that even possible? Do banks often give charge cards to tweens?

    I read a story months ago where some chick requested an app in her cat’s name, tore it up, put it back together with Scotch Tape, filled it out truthfully with a Magic Marker, and sent it off to the credit card seller… Capital One, I think. They sent the cat a card.

    Our dog got a credit card app when we lived in GA. We ordered something from a catalog for the dog, and to be funny had the mail addressed to Hans (the dog). Sure enough, somebody bought the mailing list from the catalog co and send a pre-approved credit card offer to the dog.

    I think this is the story the Speedwell is thinking of.

    Yes, very similar to that one. But I swear blue blazes there was a cat involved. Just can’t Google the original source.
