QOTD
“The defense policy of the United States is based on a simple premise: The United States does not start fights. We will never be an aggressor. We maintain our strength in order to deter and defend against aggression — to preserve freedom and peace.” — Ronald Reagan
Yeah, I’m feeling particularly morose about the state of our nation.

You know things are bad with the Bush administration when Democrats start longing for Reagan era. |

Not that Regan always stood by those words in deed. But at least he had the decency to be covert about it. 😉 |

Meh. This is a safe quote to make, because the world runs off of the aggressive use of force, and you can always point to something a week or year ago and say “see, they started it”. We don’t start fights. But we’ll sure insert ourselves into other’s fights on occasion. |

Given the opportunity, I moan about the United States having a Department of Defense, not a Department of War. |
