I’m looking for a standard def TV 32″ diagonal. No one seems to sell tube TVs anymore. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I would suggest trying a pawn shop or a thrift shop close to a high end neighborhood.

I run a karaoke show and a couple of weeks ago some moron tipped a 13 inch. I had a show to do the very next day, so I had to replace the television right away. I went to all the major retail stores and noted that not a single one had a regular tube tv for sale. I had to shell out big bugs for a tiny television because they didn’t have “old-school” models available.

I am always amazed at the things I find at the thrift store, but something like what you are looking for might be holed up in a pawn shop.

Craigslist, or Ebay for local delivery only may also be good options.

I’ve seen several of them (even big ones) offered on my local Freecycle group. In fact, my sister Freecycled her 36″ just last month.

We just had our 32″ TV go all crazy with color/contrast & had to replace it.
We didn’t feel the need to go Hi-def flat screen at the time but that is all we found.
Walmart had a few regular TVs but they weren’t as cheap as when we bought the one that broke after 10 years.
After comparing features, input jacks etc…. etc For a few hundred more we caved & went Hi-def.

It took a month of looking & comparing as not all Hi-defs are created
equal either. We found a big difference in quality & features for TVs at regular dept & warehouse stores vs an Electronics store like Best Buy.
Bigger vs Features vs Overall quality Yikes! Plus we were limited to a size that fit in the entertainment unit.
Which at 32″ is right around the cut off point that you can’t get the the full 1080.

    Good Luck!

We don’t have digital cable. Upgrading to an HDTV would essentially require us to spend an extra $40/month for Hi-Def cable. Otherwise the HDTV looks worse than SDTV.

I refuse to spend extra money.

The Habitat for the Humanities thrift store had some nice ones when we were last in there.

I found exactly one on-line. Does anyone know anything about this brand?

I don’t think I’d buy any TV with “Brok” as part of the brand name 🙂
