I was a little confused when I saw the bluenose reference. North of the border it refers to someone from my province, Nova Scotia. Ideas about where it comes from range from the bluenose potato we may have grown to the colour of fishermans’ noses at sea. I’m pretty damn sure nobody ever thought of us as a puritanical bunch! |

It was a dig at McCain’s age. “The Bee’s Knees” and “bluenose” are both 1920s slang. |
