The scientists at CERN fired up the LHC today. Wackos all over the country are hiding under their beds waiting for the tiny black holes to suck up the rest of the universe.

Skeptics, who claim that the experiment could lead to the creation of a black hole capable of swallowing the planet, failed in a legal bid to halt the project at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.

I, for one, welcome our new mini black hole overlords.

Good. Let them stay there. We’ve had enough of the wacko brand for a long while.

Oh, you want to rely on “facts” then? 🙂

If the LHC destroys the earth, will the guy with the web site have time to update it before we all die?

    Not if they are raptured.

But they probably aren’t going to be raptured.

Or do you not get raptured if it’s just plain destruction of the earth and not the end of the world for other reasons?

“If the LHC destroys the earth, will the guy with the web site have time to update it before we all die?”

Maybe he’s got it set up like those rapture sites where if he doesn’t log in for a couple days, it automatically updates. That’s assuming his server is located on another planet.

I didn’t see “Safe House” but the premise is a well-worn plot device for “B” scifi movies.

I’m almost tempted to call in to Limbaugh’s show about this. He’s extremely anti-science (of course, since he’s a fundy GOPer). So he’s almost certainly opposed to the LHC. OTOH, his climate change position is that man is too puny to destroy the Earth. So he has to be against the anti-LHC wackos.

With a little luck he’ll be like Norman in “I, Mudd.”
