RED SPRINGS — A Red Springs student who was cut in the neck this week during a fight with another student has been released from the hospital.
Police Chief Troy McDuffie said the 15-year-old was treated and released from Southeastern Regional Medical Center on Wednesday evening.
The teen’s name was not released because she is a juvenile.
The girl was injured during an altercation with another girl about noon Wednesday, according to authorities. The 15-year-old threw a punch at Cierra James, 17, of Red Springs. James pulled a box cutter and cut the 15-year-old across the neck, according to authorities.
