(JOHNNY) REBEL WITHOUT A CLUE
Chuck Norris apparently missed US History class when they were discussing the Civil War:
(CNN) – Actor Chuck Norris has his eyes on the presidency, but not the White House.
Norris wrote that he would be interested in becoming the president of Texas, if the state were ever to secede from the Union.
“I may run for president of Texas,” Norris wrote Monday in a column posted at WorldNetDaily. “That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.”
The actor claimed “thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation” and said that if states decide to secede from the union, that Texas would lead the way.
Cell groups? Isn’t that usually preceded by the word “terrorist”?

There was a Republic of Texas, after Texas declared it’s independence from Mexico.. Sam Huston was President of Texas as were David G. Burnett, Maribeau B. Lamar, and Anson Jones. So maybe Chuck Norris is referring to that period of History when he offered to run for President of Texas |

I’m pretty sure time travel hasn’t been invented yet. But if Johnny Reb wants to go back to the 19th century, I’d have no complaint. It might save us from a bunch of bad karate movies. |

I sure hope Homeland Security is checking into Norris and his incitement of all these “cells.” They are laughable on one level and terribly frightening on another. Nance |

Wish Texas had seceded back when Bush was their presid– um, governor. And left the rest of us alone! (Wait, maybe they did and that’s why things went so badly the past eight years? We were under the rule of foreign powers — Texas trying to form an alliance with Alaska, to continue the occupation?) |

“Wish Texas had seceded back when Bush was their presid– um, governor. And left the rest of us alone!” There are growing numbers of people responding “Where do we sign?” You keep your federal taxes and mandates and g-school rules and bloated govt programs and deficit spending – we’ll manage our own back yard. The notion has always been held pretty much solely by nutcase survivalist whackos and folks with “southern pride”, until last year. Now I keep hearing about state legislatures passing laws allowing them to sue the federal govt when it violates the 10th amendment. Stuff like this: thebul...78.txt This sort of talk has always annoyed me, but now it worries me a little. |

Florida has long been nonplussed by the threat of Key West and Miami to secede. It’s like, please, what can we do to help?? |

Rob, if your point is that we don’t seem to be living on the same planet anymore, much less be citizens of the same nation? That’s right, and imo you are right to worry. |
