NO WAY!
Way?
According to a news report, EdSec Paige branded the NEA a terrorist organization.
Education Secretary Rod Paige called America’s largest teacher’s union a “terrorist organization,” according to Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle, who said he heard the remark along with Republican and Democratic governors during a private meeting Monday at the White House.
“These were the words, ‘The NEA is a terrorist organization,'” Doyle told reporters.
Too funny, if true.

If the shoe fits…. The NEA encourgage their members to hold kids/parents hostage every fall w/ their strikes across the USA as they battle for more $. Meanwhile parents loose $ & scramble to find extended babysitting care for fall or miss work for school closing due to organized sick outs… Also parents are then heavily critized for opting out the public system for private or homeschooling. But then there are alot of families that don’t really have an educational choice & NEA fights heavily against choice options. I’ve also heard of horror stories of the grief they give teachers that don’t want to contribute Union dues to causes outside of education that NEA supports financially that may be contrary to the individual teacher’s religious & political beliefs. |

Sorry guys, I don’t buy the “If the shoe fits” line. In the current global environment calling any group “a terrorist organization” is an ugly, abusive, and incendiary thing to do. Some people don’t have an option but to join if you want that teaching job. Demonize the group and/or its leadership, but recognize there are tens of thousands of honest, hardworking, dedicated educators out there that are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Call the NEA greedy, manipulative, and many other perjoratives, most of which are called for, but in this political environment, I take SERIOUS offense to the “terrorist” moniker. Rod Paige should be fired for this kind of verbal diarrhea. Of course, one should consider the administration he is in. |

Rod Paige called the NEA a “terrorist organization”? Cool; What a brave man….I think I have a new hero. Doesn’t being suspected of a terrorist organization open them up to unreasonable search according to the patriot act?…the same reason why the NEA wanted to label home schoolers as terrorists and child abusers…so home schooling families would be susceptible to unreasonable search in their homes?
