UPCHUCK-A-RAMA
It’s Salt Lake City Restaurant Week here at H&OES. Yesterday, it was the Harmon’s KFC. Today, it’s a not-quite-all-you-can-eat buffet.
A couple on a low-carb diet were kicked out of a buffet restaurant after the manager said they’d eaten too much roast beef.
Sui Amaama, who along with his wife have been on the Atkins Diet for two weeks, was asked to leave after he went up to the buffet at the Chuck-A-Rama in suburban Taylorsville for his 12th slice of roast beef.
And, yes, Lydia and I used to go to the Chuck-A-Rama. You can see our nickname for the place in the title above.

His TWELFTH slice? Good grief. I wonder whether the manager was more concerned with his bottom line, or with the possibility that the guy’s arteries might clog right in front of him. I don’t know much about the Atkins Diet, but I do know that, as with any reputable diet, you’re supposed to practice moderation. This reminds me of the pizza place my husband told me about, where his cousin Carmine worked. They had pizza, all you could eat, for $2.50. After a couple of slices, Carmine would come to your table and say, “Hey. Dat’s all you can eat.” |

It reminds me of my son when he was younger… we took him to a chinese seafood buffet w/ crab legs… he ate 4 platefuls (no he never had a weight problem) the place charged us for the adult price even though he was under 12.. we didn’t argue though. |
