LETTER OF THE DAY
George Bush is God (or Jesus Christ).
Bush’s Iraq war is setting people free
In Julia Ward Howe’s “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” there is a remarkable line that expresses the importance of life, death and freedom: “let us die to make men free.” Weapons of mass destruction were not the only reason for the war against terrorists in Iraq. George Bush and our allies have eliminated one of the most evil murderous dictators in history and many of his followers.
At the same time we have begun the process of freeing 25 million human beings. This was not a colossal mistake; it was a courageous act of leadership that most would not undertake including Bill Clinton. “He lied, but nobody died.” Not true, thousands of Iraquis died at the hands of Saddam Hussein while Bill fooled around in the Oval Office. John Kerry helped our enemy in Vietnam with his self-serving testimony. Now he is doing it again with his twisted logic saying he supports the troops and at the same time voting against bills that support them.
How many veterans and soldiers would support a candidate like that? George Bush is my hero and he is marching on.

What a trifling, meaningless comment to even mention on your blog. Almost as strange as a few days ago when you criticized a politician for using a common metaphor about water. I’m starting to wonder about your meds, Daryl. |

How about a little “equal time” excerpts from the next letter on the site (Our divided nation needs John Kerry)? “We are now terrorized by fear, and frightened about the war, the poor economy, the increase in global warming, and the huge debt that has been built up” Uhhh…that’s terrorized by John Kerry, right? “He is the man with integrity who can lead us at home and help us rejoin the family of nations” Family of nations…now that’s good stuff. |

You want me to refund your admission? If the “metaphor” you refer to was Chris Castagno’s, please note that it wasn’t a metaphor. He was talking about storm water run-off and that DE has to cooperate with PA (upstream from us). My snarky comment was aimed at the unnecessary “essentially.” RE: Today’s letter, I would have posted the same if it had been John Kerry, instead of GWB. It is the Battle HYMN of the Republic. We’ve sung it in church many times. Claiming that a politician is “marching on” strikes me as bordering on blasphemy. The part about the “hero” was fortuitous. I did not remember that verse until I googled for the lyrics. |

When Eric says “Family of nations” he means France and Germany. Who have already said they will not help us |
