ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS…
Every other year we do the “Twelves Days of Christmas,” whereby the kids get a single present a day. We do this for completely practical reasons; we go down to SC every other year, and it seemed awfully silly to haul their presents down there and then haul them back again. A side benefit is that the kids don’t get overwhelmed with stuff and actually play with the “toys.” (Me too.)
This has been a “violent” gift-giving season. So much so, that I’ve changed the words to the song.
On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me, Three paintball guns, Two Softair guns, And a 4-foot blowgun for my son.
The picture above is our shed after my 5-year-old had at it for a bit. His paintball gun is way cool– only 8 15 dollars at Dick’s Cabela’s and it doesn’t require CO2. Of course, it’s like an inkjet printer; they’ll get me on the supplies.
UPDATE: I’ve fixed the errors above.

Heh, Now I don’t feel so bad that my three are getting Karate Bo sticks from the red man on christmas morning. Woohoo kids! Santa brought you something to hit each other with! 😉 |

I forgot the sparring gear that Anthony got for his karate. |

I got drated to help wrap and I saw a laser tag type of thing with two guns. He got a real gun (BB) for his birthday last year. |

Did I mention that I passed along my old .22 L.R. to Anthony for his 13th? It’s an old Marlin-Glenfield Model 60. 14 in the tube and one in the chamber. This particular gun was exempted under the (now expired) Assault Weapon Ban. Otherwise, it would have held too much ammo. Darn! |

Now all they need is a Firewheel off eBay. |

I’d never heard of Firewheel so I had to Google it. Pretty cool. I’m already sore from being shot with the paintballs (I was the moving target for the 5-year-old), so I don’t think we’ll be getting one. |

I’m confused. What I remember the front of your house looking like from last year’s Halloween picture doesn’t match the rural vibe I get from the splattered shed with trees beyond. Is there some kind of teleportation device located between your front and back doors? |

Trick photography. If the shed door had been closed you’d have seen the neighbor’s house through the crabapple tree. |
