I had seen some vague stories about an HEK being arrested and held as a suspected terrorist. This essay fleshes it out. Scary as hell.

I was trying to figure out how to blog this yesterday. It’s Ted Rall — one must take it with a huge bag of salt.

I was thinking the same thing. I’d want to see some independent verification of the facts before I believe anything Rall writes.

Patriot Act 101: Don’t even pretend to act like islamic suicide bombers or a political assassin (See Air America).

I don’t think you need a warrant when the parents filed the complaint.

    “proven would-be suicide bombers”
And how would you prove it since search, seizure and arrest are not in your method?

If the parents did not authorize the search of their home (and presumably they didn’t since they had asked the police to drop the issue), hell yes you do.

    Upon further reflection–

I should have added “for American citizens.” I have no idea if her immigration status would change things.
