OPENING DAY
Jonathan is playing t-ball this year. We have the Opening Day Ceremonies and our Home Opener this a.m. (assuming we don’t get rained out).
UPDATE: The rain held off just long enough to get the game in. The score ended up a tie, 0-0. (We don’t keep score or outs in t-ball.)

I’m canceling practice this morning due to the rain. The idiot county starts practices the week before Spring Break – I had 4/13 at practice on Thursday – the rest are at Disneyland or points South. |

WooHoo! Go Jonathan! I assume this is your son 🙂 4 of mine are doing the MS Walk. They are gearing up to get rained on. |

//We don’t keep score or outs in t-ball./ Communists! 😉 They don’t around here either. I suspect there is a correllation between that and the team of 12 year olds I have that don’t have much interest in practicing to get better at the game. We teach them early that skill and effort don’t matter. In my 15+ seasons of coaching youth sports, I’ve had maybe 5 kids total that put any effort into improving their skills on their own time. |

Chris, Out of curiosity, how many of them just play pick up games for fun? I don’t know that I ever set out to ‘improve my skills” outside of practice when I played softball, but friends and I would head down to the field to play a few times a week and summer was filled with competitive whiffle ball and stick ball on the streets. I just don’t see that happening today. I think the bigger problem is that too many kids have internalized that their sports have to be organized by adults. Too many adults too. Even amongst homeschoolers. 🙁 |
