for a day or two. I’m doing Dad duty, transporting #1 Daughter to ballet “camp.” It’s only 900 miles round trip.

At least it’s less expensive than Delaney’s habit. 🙂

You don’t wanna do that, mom, too much target area! 🙂

We’re doing community theatre this summer, Seussical the Musical (teen daughter is assistant stage manager and she’s there right now) which involves staying up very late at night to pick her up. It’s free education and experience though, that’s a plus!

She has a good friend who just came back from a month in NYC with Joffrey Ballet (and her mother, in an apartment, hear the cash register??) and now wants to audition for Julliard’s ballet camp for next summer. She says they only take 44 from the whole nation though, so options should be kept open . . .

Where is the sit on the beach and drink beer camp for parents?

They have them. But they’re called “retirement homes.”

Yeah, I’m back. I didn’t know if I was going to try to do it all in 1 day or spread it over 2 days & stay in a hotel. So, I split the difference– I drove all the way there and almost all the way home (short by 70 miles). I then attempted to take a power nap at a rest stop (it was 10:30 p.m. by now). My 30 minute nap took 4 hours. I got in at 4 this morning.

ABT has a good summer intensive. Katelyn’s at First State Ballet Theatre’s. The director there is Russian and curses at the girls in Russian. They love it!

Katelyn is being encouraged to audition for Julliard. $25,000 tuition plus expenses in NYC. I don’t think so. More likely, we’ll actually enroll her in a g-school. The NC School for the Arts has a very good reputation. (The Russian’s ballerina wife went there.) It’s 3 hours from our home so she’d have to live in the dorms.
