I´M ALIVE
if a bit confused. I´m typing this on the computer in the business center at the hotel where I´m staying. Who knew that German keyboards aren´t QWERTY? (It took me 15 seconds to find the question mark in that last sentence.) Need less to say, blogging will be sporadic at best.

[laughing] I’d forgotten all about that. The German keyboards are indeed different. When I worked at an Army civilian personnel office, that was one of the test the German applicants for clerical positions had to pass: typing on an American typewriter. We used to have young would-be clerks come in to practice on our typewriters because they didn’t have access elsewhere. |

Hubby’s keyboard died while we were living in Germany, and he went to a German store to buy a cheap replacement, rather than getting one on base. He doesn’t do touch typing, so it didn’t really bother him, but I had a horrible time using his keyboard. |

Your post will be missed, and Haben Sie eine gute Zeit. (which I think means have a good time, I am to lazy to dig out the dictionary to check). |

Viel Spass! When I was teaching pre-K, one of my little four year olds switched all the keys over to the German version. It is really hard to type when the keys say something different than they produce. Maybe you could annoy them and switch to US? |

Where are you in Germany at the moment? The same place as last time? |
