The ISS and Space Shuttle just passed directly overhead. I shot this 8 second exposure from our backyard. The ISS is the brighter one higher in the sky.

Okay, now I feel like an ass. I really thought I’d looked closely and assumed there was something wrong with the picture. I made myself look again after commenting and realized, when it didn’t scrape of with my fingernail, that that spot wasn’t on my monitor. Sorry, Daryl.

The Shuttle line is faint. If you’re using an LCD monitor you might need to adjust the angle to get a better view. I had to tip mine down. BTW, the stars are the Big Dipper. The Shuttle line ends just below the bottom of the bowl, and the ISS line starts at the middle of the bowl.

Yes I see your pic ok, the Shuttle too.
I have an old fashion crt monitor.

I saw the Station in Toronto, Canada sky about Aug 18 .
The Shuttle was behind it , and a bit dimmer like your pic.
The Station was moving south, and took about 30 seconds to pass by out of site.
They were brighter than any star, and I could tell that they were not a airplane because they crossed a big expanse quickly. That is how I figured out it must be the Space Station.
The Shuttle seemed far behind it, like perhaps a hundred miles.

There is a timetable at the NASA site someplace of orbits around earth locations, so you can plan a sighting.
