NO BAD SCIENCE (REPORTING)

NBC-29 ought to lose their over-the-air license for this report on autism. It’s that bad. Totally irresponsible reporting and the “winner” of today’s No Bad Science Hat of Shame. [via the Dis Brimstone]

Most local TV news reporting is fueled by sensationalism and outright misinformation. That’s why I haven’t watched it in years. |

Your sneaky attempt at traffic building seems to be failing. Usually, any post insinuating that maybe immunizations are not causing autism is met with a barrage of comments demanding that you take it back. |

Eric Rydland of DAN is not practicing science, he’s practicing marketing. Look at all the weasel in his words. |

Obesity has also skyrocketed in the time that immunizations have increased. So has methamphetamine use. And ice cream sales. Immunizations must be causing all of these things! I learned this phrase when I took Psych 101 nearly 20 years ago: “Correlation does not prove causation”. I guess they don’t teach that in Journalism. |
