    here is what I commented:

    “if the highest grade you got in school was a C, you might want someone else to teach your children.”

    Did you know that the highest GPA required for teacher certification is NJ, with a 2.75. Kansas doesn’t even require a minimum GPA to teach.

    Man, that’s tame… you should see the comments in the NYT article on public cyber schooling at home!

    Basically, 100 nasty comments about how children at home can’t possibly get the socialization they need and parents who don’t have a teaching degree can’t teach. Crazy.

    I’m lucky I graduated from high school at all. My grades stunk! But that in no way affects my child’s ability to learn. The only thing I have ever taught my children is to love to learn.
