We were visiting my parents-in-law last week and my mother-in-law, who is a very devout Catholic and also very Irish, said that St. Patrick’s Day was always considered an exception to that rule in her family.

    “I’m neither Irish nor Catholic”

Me neither, but I’m still going to celebrate by having an Irish beer and a tiny piece of bread that I pretend is a 2,000 year-old dead guy.

Or maybe I’ll kill two birds with one stone and have a Rogue Dead Guy Ale.

The druids probably don’t consider this such an exciting day. I’ll drink to my Irish heritage and try not to think about the icky religious conquest stuff that comes with it.
