This one’s a hoot! For the record, I’m active in the local Democratic Party and know Roberta well. She was much more diplomatic than I would have been.
FairTax will take care of all Americans
Why is the Democratic Party so adamant against helping the people of America?I called Roberta Waddle, the Democratic Party president for Cumberland County, for permission to hand out FairTax flyers at the party’s Hay Street office. Mrs. Waddle informed me that the FairTax was not on the DNC platform. I informed her I am an Independent and the FairTax is a nonpartisan proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll taxes with a progressive tax on consumption (national retail sales tax). It includes cash “prebate” that ensures no American pays federal taxes on spending for essential goods and services up to the poverty level.
Every American can keep the entire paycheck, all federal income taxes — gone! IRS and 16th Amendment — gone! The FairTax plan completely untaxes low-income families. Untaxes tuition. Existing and future savings and investments are all tax-free as the return on that savings. Positive impact on retirees. No federal taxes or compliance costs hidden in consumer prices. Raises the same amount of revenue as the current system with much lower marginal rates. Promotes economic growth and substantial wage increases for working Americans and stops the export of American jobs overseas.
With the FairTax Plan, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, who currently do not pay income taxes, will help pay our taxes, as will the underground economy, illegal immigrants and tourists. Also, Social Security and Medicare will be secure for future generations.
Now that’s taking care of all American citizens, especially the low-income.

Two topics I’m in favor of: The FairTax & Home Schooling. We withdrew our kids from a fascist middle school principal back in 8th grade as an act of protest. Folks, the so-called “Fair” tax is not fair and is not smart. It creates problems you haven’t thought about. It doesn’t solve the problems it claims to solve. It is not what you think. Please read this Von Mises Institute writeup on Neil Boortz’s well-known book about the Fair Tax. It’s a sensible look written by Nobel-caliber economists, not self-serving politicians and media experts with their hands aimed for your pockets. Please don’t allow yourselves to be fooled. |
