Utterly Meaningless

That plastic-headed king always creeped me out, but this is just over the top with creepiness. Pass the bleach, I need to sanitize my brain.

I smelled like a freaking whopper for the two weeks I worked there in college. That was enough for me. And I’m with Don, the king gives me the heebie jeebies.

They think it’s getting them loads and loads of lovely attention. Attention, yes. Lovely, well, not so much.

I think that them pulling such an insanely desperate, clueless, disgusting stunt in the middle of this economy is a good indication of how cavalier their attitude is toward their staff, their food quality, and their business in general. Remember that developing this “scent” and the marketing campaign surrounding it cost a hell of a lot of money. Maybe I’m just paranoid, but this doesn’t give me confidence in their ability to make good decisions overall.

A marketing teacher I had in college once said that stupid, disgusting ad campaigns sometimes succeeded, but more often backfired. Think this may be one such case?

Well, I can guarantee that I will not be eating in a BK anytime soon.

Years ago, Spencer Gifts used to sell men’s underwear with “Home of the Whopper” emblazoned in a strategic location. That’s what this ad reminded me of.

Eww. That was disturbing.
