I’M STILL ALIVE…
but not terribly engaged right now. I can leave you with one quote from a g-school teacher, proving once again why g-school is so much better than home education, and why we’re all just a bunch of uneducated ignorant yahoos who don’t know our places:
Homeschooling parent/teachers are arrogant to the point of lunacy. For real! My qualifications to teach English include a double major in English and education, two master’s degrees (education and journalism), a student teaching semester and multiple internship terms, real world experience as a writer, and years in the classroom dealing with different learning styles. So, first of all, homeschooling parent, you think you can teach English as well as me?
Me daresay me probably could.

We’re not in it to teach well, we’re in it for our kids to learn well. |

Oh, they are writing a book. “The springboard for this blog was a book project that the authors embarked on a year and a half ago—a kind of survival guide for new teachers titled Teacher, Revised: A Renegade’s Guide To The World’s Most Important Profession. We will be publishing excerpts from the book here, but mostly this blog will be a place for us to pontificate, propose, and ponder in a less rigid format. Anything ed-related is fair game.” That makes more sense. Nance |

Well. I asked if a proposed home visit and the comments from hsers on the blog were for use in the upcoming book. No, just to learn about hsing. And to discuss on the blog. That’s the answer I received. But that was the end of the discussion, too. So far, anyway. My work is done. 🙂 Nance |
