PRIVATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <i>Washington Post<\/i> solicited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A11553-2003Nov24.html\">letters<\/a> from several Washington-area VIPs (and VIP wannabes) on the topic of &#8220;Which are better- public schools or private schools?&#8221;  This is, no doubt, related to the DC voucher debate.  There&#8217;s a pretty good mix of all three possible answers (&#8220;public&#8221;, &#8220;private&#8221;, and &#8220;it depends&#8221;).  Interestingly, the pro-public school letters cited diversity as the selling point for the g-schools.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Andrew Bennett <i>(evidently no relation to William J. Bennett who also has a letter in the article)<br \/>\n<\/i><br \/>\n11th-grader at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve gone to public schools in Montgomery County my entire life, and I know people who go to private school. In my experience, public school education is better than private school education. Most public schools do offer the diversity that is so important in preventing bigotry.
