{"id":4728,"date":"2005-03-19T01:46:29","date_gmt":"2005-03-19T01:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cobranchi.com\/wp\/?p=4728"},"modified":"2005-03-19T01:46:29","modified_gmt":"2005-03-19T01:46:29","slug":"one-for-ma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cobranchi.com\/?p=4728","title":{"rendered":"ONE FOR M.A."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The PA religious freedom \/ home education <a href=\"http:\/\/pittsburghlive.com\/x\/tribune-review\/trib\/regional\/s_315046.html\">lawsuits<\/a> just got one plaintiff larger.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A Crawford County couple who home-school their children said the school district&#8217;s monitoring policy interferes with religious freedom.<\/p>\n<p>The federal lawsuit, by Douglas and Shari Nelson of Titusville, is similar to several lawsuits filed across the state and will be consolidated with them.<\/p>\n<p>The Nelsons sued the Titusville School District after officials in February threatened to start truancy proceedings after the Nelsons failed to submit a proposed lesson plan.<\/p>\n<p>Carl Moore, the district solicitor, said the government has a compelling interest in ensuring that children are educated.
