Don Ryan&#8217;s bill that, in part, required testing for home-educated children.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It went down in flames,&#8221; she said of the bill that never got out of committee.<\/p>\n<p>Still, she&#8217;d do it again. No Child Left Behind requirements are just one example of proof that cannot be provided when a child is home-schooled.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is no support in my office records to say home-schooled kids are better educated,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m an advocate for quality. I don&#8217;t care if people want to home school, but they better meet the same level of quality &#8230; It comes back to our founding fathers in the Constitution. They didn&#8217;t give us privilege alone. They gave us privilege and responsibility.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I hope somewhere in Montana, home educators are throwing her a going away party.
