CONSERVATIVES ARE IGNORANT BIGOTS
I calls ’em as I sees ’em. And this is what I see this morning:
No mosques in New York City!
There was a church that perished on 9/11. The little St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Rebuild that!
It is not a matter of freedom of religion, but, freedom of worship. In America, worship the one true God of our forefathers … of Abraham, of Isaac, of Jacob, of Joseph, and of Nicholas. Any ol’ way you like.
We have a jealous God, who founded America. He hasn’t abandoned us. I promise.
Russ Olenick, Raeford
But, heh, it’s Fayetteville. Lots of idiots running around here. But how, then, to explain the comments on this CNN piece on the same topic? Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

I just left an alumni list over this video: The list is allegedly apolitical (and the owner, who I like, has mentioned it many times), but still, one vocal group of people continue to push, push, push. I liked seeing names of the schoolmates I knew and reading about grandkids, travels and such, but after a while, it’s just a time sink explaining this, that and the other thing in the wake of erroneous information. For a long time it was the usual urban legend stuff, but now it’s political — plus, if you do try to correct misinformation, THEN the warnings about the apoliticality of the list arise. Maybe the cybersphere is part of the reason for the increase in social volatility. Now we really do find out what other people think, with little buffer to preserve our own view of things. Unfortunately, if you absent yourself, then the loudest voices win. Lose/lose. Or maybe I’m just fed up. |

Right there with Valerie on all counts. Maybe we’re just too old for any more of this crap. |

While we’re talking about ignorant bigots, what’s everyone’s take on Helen Thomas’ comments about how the Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and go back home to Germany and Poland? |

Degraded social filter due to extreme age. She’s 89. |

The “get the hell out of Palestine” isn’t a particularly shocking viewpoint. But in America, one shall not criticize our military customer, err partner, Israel. |

Yes, but telling Jews to “go back to Germany” is a little insensitive. Let’s face it, I don’t remember the Jews of Eastern Europe getting much of a love-fest from the government circa 1939-1945. |

How is it worse than tea party politicians today, telling mothers to get the hell out of America and abandon their citizen children? |

Comment by JJ June 10th, 2010 at 1:01 pm |
Or those who actually insist the citizen children go too! |

I never said that was right either. Especially since our Founding Fathers were themselves illegal immigrants. |
