Read this piece out of Oregon and tell me that the reporter doesn’t have an agenda.

So, all the evil homeschool kids are unaccounted for and they have no records, but the county still leads the pack in child abuse.

Wonder where those kids go to school?

    I’m surprised that mandatory pre-K wasn’t suggested.

    That was artfully inept.

“She’s the person who straightens their backpacks and tousles their hair. She’s the one who bends down inches from a little person’s face and quietly listens to fears and frustrations” – I think that it is important that a school beauracrat play this role and not the mother.

“Research shows students are more likely to remain in schools where someone cares about them,” – This is true. Few Home Educated Kids have dropped out.

“We believe in good human nature, that parents are doing the right things for their children, but we don’t have any objective evidence to show that’s true,” – Unfortunately we do have “objective evidence” to how public school teachers are doing.

I should cut the reporter some slack. The truth is, parents must be conotrolled and moonitored. And those people in turn must be controlled and monitored. And they will be appointed by mob, uh, majority rule. As long as we dont elect power hungry and dishonest poiticians, we should be fine.

Give me majority rule or give me death!

I’ve come to think that it’s not that people have an agenda so much as it is that an awful lot of them seem to keep their brains in little boxes with very high sides.

I agree with Susan, never blame conspiracy when simple ignorance will suffice.

Another variant of Hanlon’s Razor, no?
