A high school biology teacher has been told to quit teaching creationism. After 15 years. I’m amazed that in San Diego not a single parent complained in all that time.

And as a bonus, here’s a quote to drive Eric crazy:

“He must teach evolution exclusively – observable scientific fact, not beliefs or religion,” Lee said. “I fully believe he will comply. He just stepped over the line.”

It looks as if he was in Virginia, not San Diego.

So, I guess they won’t be teaching global warming in San Diego any more?

I guess those observed facts are all recorded in the Missing Link’s missing scientific observation journal…uhhhh I mean stone tablet. Of course, he never saw the primordial ooze or dinos and was probably writing (carving?) stuff like “bananas good”…

Eric. spouting stupid arguments that have already been fully refuted by scientists is just making you look like a propagandizing idiot with an agenda. (Giving you the benefit of the doubt and not /actually/ calling you a propagandizing idiot with an agenda outright, you’ll notice.)

Like or not Speedwell, the fact that the students allowed this teacher to “get away” with teaching critical thinking about the controversy for 15 years, speaks of the interest of the students in the matter. It really is a great tactic that benefits creationism to tell students they can’t have the information. I know of a teacher in the public school that did not teach creation in the science class, but he stirred much interest when he told the class he wasn’t allowed to tell them certain info. The “forbidden fruit” mentality brought forth at least one vocal and local creationist that I know.

C’mon, I had to oblige Daryl. Speedy, calling macroevolution “observed fact” is idiotic propaganda. How “scientific” of them to only allow their singular theory to be taught or considered. What about all that tolerance, diversity and appreciation of other cultures we hear so much about? Evidently that is selective as well. But you already know that…
