My FSM post was not welcome and so the CoH and I have gone out separate ways.

Do you want to submit the SHEA post, or should I? Just kidding Natalie 🙂 |

Daryl, the CoH is sponsored by TOS, which adheres to a SoF. Hardly surprising the FSM wasn’t welcome. |

SoF? And what do you mean by “sponsored by”? I think the CoH is Henry Cate’s baby. It is being hosted by TOS/homeschoolblogger.com this week. But I’m unaware of any connection beyond that. |

The Carnival is useless if the rules change every week based on that weeks host. TOS is wrong, and Henry is wrong for allowing it to happen. He just killed his Carnival. |

Well, I hope not. I think the Carnival is a good idea. Perhaps my post was in poor taste given this week’s host. TOS’ editorial decisions are their own. They should have had the guts to let me know that they wouldn’t be including it. Instead, I saw the disclaimer on Chris’ site and figured it might be aimed at me. Henry confirmed it via email but TOS still has not (even after a direct inquiry). So, apparently I am personna non grata. I understand Henry’s pulling the Carnival from HE&OS in Week 3. I think he fears I would retaliate. I wouldn’t have, but that’d be a leap of faith on his part. |

So — humor isn’t welcome on the COH? Are we trying to present a false picture of homeschoolers as humorless g-school bashers? |

But I thought ID had nothing to do with religion? That’s what they keep telling us. If your post was offensive to Christians isn’t that an open admission that ID is essentially a religious issue? |

To clear a few things up: Carnivals have four types of people. There is 1) the organizer, 2) bloggers who host the carnival, 3) bloggers who participate with their submissions, and 4) the readers. Daryl is right, I am the organizer for the Carnival of Homeschooling. It is a lot of work to host the carnival, so I only want to host it once in awhile. I need to apologize; a lot of this problem has been caused my trying to wing this on the fly. There were no explicit goals for the carnival and no guidelines for hosts or submitters. I can include Daryl’s FSM post in the carnival for week three. I recognize that some submissions may not be appropriate for some hosts. I am working on a protocol for resolving this. I expect to have a post up on this in another day or two. After the post goes up, I would like input. |
