The argument that the fundies are using against this vaccine, that it will encourage girls to have premarital sex, is just plain idiotic. ‘Cause I’d be willing to be my last dollar that the possibility of dying from cervical cancer many years down the road discourages not a single teen.

I just want to know how they are going to guarentee the purity of the young man that marries their virgin daughter.

And COD – right on that – shoot, the threat of getting pregnant that very night doesn’t stop most teens.

Their virgin daughters only marry young men after a “courtship” that involves several years of courting without even a good night kiss. No danger of STDs there.

For the record, I’m not necessarily in favor of these being mandatory vaccinations. Its not like polio where innocent bystanders can be adversely affected by someone’s decision to not vaccinate.

Our government at work. Now the teachers who molest young girls won’t have to worry about contracting a few forms of HPV.

If the new law madethe HPV vaccine prerequisite to getting a driver’s license instead of public schooling, how would we argue against it then? (Personally I’d bet big money that more STDs are transmitted in cars than classrooms)

I’m not in favor of mandatory vaccines (or mandatory much of anything.)

    But.

I don’t see how any parent could gamble their daughter’s possible death from cervical cancer against the possibility of her future husband straying just one time.
