MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY,
In an editorial today the Wilmington News-Journal hops on the social studies band wagon. You’ll never guess what social studies teachers (and art and music, too) need more of.

I remember taking social studies in 5th or 6th grade. We studied Ghana. To this day I don’t understand the point. My kids have studied Greek, Roman, and Egyptian culture as part of studying history. Total cost? I doubt we’ve spent $20 bucks, 99% of the material came from the public library and the Internet. |
