Well, I disagree, as do many scientists whose credentials surpass this partisan democrat, who just so happens to be a supporter of SETI. Perhaps ID conflicts with Holt’s religious persuasion?

Anyway, here’s what ID is for those who are curious:

1. What is the theory of intelligent design?
The scientific theory of intelligent design holds that certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause, not an undirected process such as natural selection. Note: Intelligent design theory does NOT claim that science can determine the identity of the intelligent cause. Nor does it claim that the intelligent cause must be a “divine being” or a “higher power” or an “all-powerful force.” All it proposes is that science can identify whether certain features of the natural world are the products of intelligence.

Nice lie. The Discovery Institute has been outed. It was founded with the explicit purpose of pushing Christianity. Science never has had anything to do with it.

And Holt holds a Ph.D. in physics. I’m betting his credentials probably top yours.

Okay, I’m confused. Or someone is. Isn’t the idea/hypothesis of ID basically: “Sure, man evolved from apes, etc., but it wasn’t a random process” ?

Another point of confusion: Daryl, do you or don’t you believe that humans came to exist because some being wanted them to exist?
