MISINFORMATION
No, this has nothing to do with Scott.
From a summary of VA’s new laws going into effect:
Allow parents with only a high school education to teach home school. Prior to the new law, home-school parents were required to hold a college degree.
That’s wrong, of course. High-school grads could always home educate. They just had a couple additional hoops to jump through.

Does North Carolina still require that parents homeschool in English? I had an Austrian friend in NC that wanted to homeschool in German but at the time the law said no to anything but English. I always wondered how that would hold up in court. |

I doubt that the legislators are that farsighted (and smart). It is possible, though, that this might be an unintended side-effect over the long term. |
