    And the ACLU, too!

RALEIGH, North Carolina (AP) — A state judge has ruled that North Carolina’s 201-year-old law barring unmarried couples from living together is unconstitutional.

The American Civil Liberties Union sued last year to overturn the rarely enforced law on behalf of a former sheriff’s dispatcher who says she had to quit her job because she wouldn’t marry her live-in boyfriend.

Deborah Hobbs, 41, says her boss, Sheriff Carson Smith of Pender County, near Wilmington, told her to get married, move out or find another job after he found out she and her boyfriend had been living together for three years. The couple did not want to get married, so Hobbs quit in 2004.

That’s why we need Christian Reconstruction in this country. When Farris and his friends are in charge this won’t be merely a namby-pamby Class 2 misdemeanor. It’ll be a capital offense. Hell, yeah! Oops. Sorry, Mike. Please don’t kill me.

As far as whether the ACLU would actively support hsers, it seems to me, is that the donors/members/supporters of the ACLU (the folks who give them money and political support) are likely supporters of public school. And teachers’ unions.

Not all of us. I just got my renewal notice in the mail yesterday.

My partner and I will not be joining or giving money to any homeschooling organization that prefers to see us as inadequate parents until we have signed some state contract down at the courthouse. My guy and I do not require a permission slip from strangers in order to have a loving, committed relationship.
