AN OPEN LETTER TO HOMESCHOOL.COM
I received an email from homeschool.com pushing The Old Schoolhouse. My response:
TOS Editor Gina Suarez is a vocal supporter of Michael & Debbie Pearl, who encourage their followers to beat young children with plumbing supplies in order to instill discipline. Right-thinking homeschoolers are boycotting everything associated with TOS and the Pearls. I guess that may have to include homeschool.com

I guess I’ve taken myself so far off the homeschool mainstream that I don’t even rate a spam magazine subscription offer. Not sure if the should bother me, or thrill me. |

I suppose it doesn’t matter that I haven’t been spammed. I will be sending a similar letter myself. Thanks Daryl. |

I just left homeschoolblogger for various reasons, including what you are describing here. Great letter! |

[…] Homeschool.com is now shilling on the behalf of This Old Schoolhouse. I just searched ODonnellWeb for Homeschool.com references. I’ve linked to them one time in six years, and that was when I was questioning how Forbes.com could name such an ad-laden, worthless web site as a Best of the Web. […] |
