A local school board in OH has (finally) voted to start firing a “science” teacher who
    1) Refused to remove his Bible from the classroom even after being told to
    2) Taught religion in his science classes, including creationism
    3) Told his students that science is wrong about homosexuality and that it is a choice and a sin and
    4) Branded (literally) a cross into the skin of one of his students.

    He’s been teaching 21 years.

I’m sure the termination process will take several years during which he’ll be collecting full pay for doing nothing. Of course, getting him out of the classroom is a major step in the right direction, regardless.

This is just an amazing story. Apparently this teacher’s reign of lunacy has the support of the school principal and many of the students. Unbelievable.

I blogged this earlier today too, as unusually convoluted power of story:

The sad thing is is the claims to only have burned an “X” when it is obviously a crucifix. Gee…isn’t there something about Christians and telling the truth, rather than lying when it is convenient. And the irony is this heretic is a science teacher. I guess he figured he was doing God’s work by misleading kids about evolution. Throw this lying scumbag out of the school. Let him preach on streetcorners and collect change from those who want to hear his rant. Just keep him away from my kid.

“…[he] claims to only have burned an “X” when it is obviously a crucifix…”

Yeah, I saw that. I can’t believe the man said that on purpose, it is an admission in so many words that he burned children. It’s as boneheaded as saying, “Yer Honor, I only raped the woman once, not three times like she said.”
